Target and Walmart compete in the same market. While both have their advantages, Target is considered to have strength when compared to Walmart in the following areas:

1. Brand loyal customers and a respectable position

While Walmart has always been criticized for their aggressive tactics, hostile work environment and market disrupting behavior. Target has always been considered to be a fun place to shop at as well as has favorable views in the eyes of their customer.

2. Competency is profitable areas of fashion and furniture.

While Walmart is preferred for their pricing, Target has always been preferred for their exclusive offerings in the fashion.department, as well as household furniture industry.
