There are several strategies that could be followed by HR specialists as to help meet challenges like current and predicted long term shortages of RNs and allied healthcare professionals, these strategies are as stated below:

  • HR Specialist could adjust hiring criteria; they could hire comparatively less qualified human resource professional and train them as per need of the company. Help them to understand skills, requirements and expertise as needed in their company, help them to understand strategic objective, goal and vision of the company.
  • HR Specialist could hire internal employees and they can check whether talents are available in their company or not. They should retain their staffs as to protect their company from any talent shortage issues and any severe breakdown.
  • They could use interim staff and consultants those can help to manage the shortage related challenges.

There several leadership and management skill sets that could be useful for retaining good employees and deferring employee turnover, these are as stated below:

  • Intervention of skills could be highly useful in the same context, as employee needs motivation and they need to be much committed towards their work or tasks. Hence, here, they require training program as to grab certain skill sets. Leaders should keep their attention on such situation. Leader should interact with the team members or employees and understand their concern and take feedback over time.
  • Employee will be able to enjoy their work if they are recognized for their performance. Leader should reward and recognize their employees over time and with such efforts, employee turnover could also be reduced and employee gets retained within the workplace.
  • Employees are to be hired based on their skill sets and their knowledge level. Organization could look for skilled employees and enthusiastic employees that could protect the organization in all time.
  • Early intervention: every employee needs orientation and early intervention, they should be aware about goals, strategic objective of the company and they should be well trained to fit in new working environment.
