Persuasion.

Nearly 6,000 miles of toll roads criss-cross 21 states in the United States.
Many of these toll roads have automatic payment systems to smooth your commute and reduce the jams created by requiring drivers to stop at toll booths. However, with automatic payment systems comes the possibility that the system – or you – could make a mistake.

- you are from diffrent state traviling from your town to illinois ,and you car has been caught on video camera while going through road toll , and you have no idea about there video camer system, that because in the state you live in they use road toll cashier (toll booths) , which is you're familiar with , and you received a violation notice in the mail, showed thaht unpaid toll notices plus additional charges started mounting,it's important to act as quickly as possible to check its legitimacy since you have a limited time to disputeit .

-based on that how would you persuade the hearing office to pay the original unpaid toll only ?

Answer #1

To persuade the hearing office to let me pay the original unpaid toll only and to avoid paying any kind of additional charges, I would try to put forward my arguments in a factual manner. I would try to highlight the facts and figures about the differences in the road toll system between my native state and the state where I was travelling to. Also I would try to draw attention to the fact that there were no hoardings or bill boards to draw the attention of a passenger towards the automatic toll payment systems. All these led me to miss paying the toll and as it is not my sole responsibility, I must be allowed to pay just the toll charges.
