Needs are those elements which are compulsory for human survival. Without that human cannot survive and wants are those elements which the human have option.

For an example You are hungry so you need food. Now food is necessary for you to live. Hence it is need. Now if you are hungry and you need food then you can eat Pizza, Burger, Bread, Rice, Vegetables etc. If you have desire to eat a Pizza to kill hunger then Pizza will be a want. The want is desire to have or another word it is wish for smoothing to have or the choices available.
