Argue for or against the need for increased government regulations of business. What examples can you provide to support your position? Are there certain industries or businesses that should require additional regulation versus others? Support your statements with facts and Internet sources.

I believe that there should be increased government regulations in business and generally speaking in some business organizations because there is no doubt in the fact that there are few organizations or generally in some field of industry government regulations should be increased so that the basic hygiene of business is maintained. There are certain sectors of business which possess adequate regulations and also there are certain sectors where there is need to make the regulations more and better and strict. If we look at most of the corporate organizations we will see that the organizations actually earn a huge amount of profit and the employees also do not complain about the salary that is offered to them but when we talk about job security then that is actually less because the organization believe in employment at will and they can hire and fire at will which is not at all justified and hence the government should intervene in order to make the rules better and even amend the regulations.

Again there are instances when these organizations outsource labor from a different country altogether without even assessing the condition of work in these organizations where there is violation of various rules and regulations like child labor, discrimination based on gender, insanitary and unsafe working condition, etc. The organizations should look into these because it is their corporate social responsibility that they need to take care of. I believe if government regulations are strict and stringent then such issues can be avoided but the government is generally on the back foot negotiating with such organizations as they provide employment and the government is always in fear of losing such an organization which is not at all justified. It is better if the government defines certain parameters and regulations based on these factors so that organizations need to adhere to these or else there is no way they can sustain.
