Differentiate between the concepts of marketing and sales.

For this assignment, first consider what we mean by the term "marketing." What is the definition of "sales?" What is the difference between sales and marketing orientations? What are some of the marketing management philosophies? Lastly, what are some of the important reasons for studying marketing and sales?

In the world of business marketing and sales are two of the very important components to survive in the dynamic world of business. Many people confuse marketing with sales and think that both things are the same as they are dependent on each other. Marketing is all about promotion and advertisement. As the product is designed, and the competitive prices of the product are discussed. through marketing enterprise attracts sales. whereas sales are a transaction between two or more parties in which one party is a buyer and the other is the seller deals with goods and services.

The difference between sales orientation and marketing orientation is that sales-oriented business and a marketing-oriented business have to do with their overall perception of the market. A sales-oriented business is very internally based and aims to sell goods that the business has been successful in producing. A marketing-oriented business focuses externally on the desires and needs of the customer. In marketing orientation, the main focus is on the targeted audience which means businesses have to adjust strategies according to the customers.

Marketing philosophies are concept which helps businesses to identify and fulfill the need of the customer benefiting both the business and customer.there are 5 marketing philosophies which a company need to use according to their customers need. 1. Production Concept 2. product concept 3.selling concept 4. marketing concept 5. social marketing concept.

In the business as long as there is a need for customers the need to study for marketing and sales will be necessary. The marketers need to find what customer wants and what customer needs. some of the reasons to study marketing and sales are as follows:-

1. Every business needs sales and marketing to enhance its sale of product through different marketing ways like digital marketing, social media marketing, promotions, services, etc.

2. Marketing skills are useful in many fields like public relations, leadership, hospitality, or to start their own business.

3. It also helps in analyzing and interpreting human behavior. through this, a marketer can influence the decision of a buyer.

4.In the growing digital world marketing is just not about trditinal knowledge but it helps to get insight and knowledge about digital marketing.
