Explain how the delivery of healthcare services can benefit from health information systems, and provide two examples
Question from textbook --> Introduction to Health Care Management third edition chapter 8
Health information systems are becoming more and more important. In fact, now we can hardly imagine healthcare without information systems.
For example 1 - The healthcare information systems store all patient related data, such that the same can be accessed by the doctors from any part of the world and be able to provide further diagnosis and treatments. Also, large amount of data is stored in the servers such that it can be easily retrieved whenever required. Thus, there is no need to maintain a hardcopy of documents and any loss of documents won't hamper the treatment process.
Example 2 - The inventory management system in healthcare industry is maintained through IT. The stock inventory and minimum order levels is all mentioned in the IT system.
