The major weaknesses of Human Resource Management are as
follows:
- HRM is of recent origin. Hence it doesn’t have any universally
approved academic base. Different organizations do practice the HRM
in different ways.
- When there is a lack of support from the top management, it
will be difficult for the organization to practice and implement.
Thus the attitude of top management is very significant for HRM to
be a success.
- Adequate information is required in order to kick start the HRM
practice in the organization. There is a need to collect, store and
retrieve information regarding the employees before the
implementation of HRM.
- There is a lack of adaptability for a single kind of practice
in HRM. No standard protocol exists for HRM when it comes to
execution. What works for one organization might not be effective
for another one.
- The expenses for the implementation of HRM all throughout the
organization are very high. It also doesn’t yield short term
results, thus cannot expect a sudden change in the results.
