Here are some steps for same-

Have a plan- There should be clear objective with the plan. The plan should be in written that in case of any crisi how you are going to handle it.

Identify a spokesperson The Company should identify a spoke person who can answer the questions of media as well as customer and employees.

Be honest and open- Niglecy , dishonesty and lies attract much media attention and no reason can attract so much media attention . Thus the company should be honest and open.

Keep employees informed- The employees should be informed so that they are informed about the flow of working. This will eliminate or minimize the internal rumors.

Communicate with suppliers customers- The suppliers or the customers should not come to know about the crisis through media. They will feel that you are hiding something and they will form some rumors.

Update early and often- The plans should be ready early and it is better to over communicate the rumor than hiding it

Use Social Media- The social media team should be updated and they should tackle all the questions, rumors, questions over social media. It is a medium where communication is spread very heavily.
