I believe that Excel is the most popular spreadsheet that is being used by the population because of various reasons and the primary reason is the simplicity and convenience that Excel provides to its users. The application or rather the tool possess a competitive advantage over its competitors because the competition level is not at all low and there has been so many operating systems who are there and have tried to take the market share of excel but excel has always been that dynamic to introduce new features and facilities so that it stands out from the crowd.

Almost all the organizations use excel to do various takes and because of its wide range of options to create and edit data or documents excel has been always preferred. I believe that the most important use of excel is the way huge volume of data can be handled with the help of Excel where data can even be transformed with the help of formulas and that too for texts, numbers, logical operators etc. For example an organization wants to compare and handle data from two different databases and they need to find out the data for a unique key which is an Id or something else. functions like Lookup, index, match, etc. can be used with excel. A person who has sound knowledge in using excel is a person very much useful because he can help making operations with data using excel.

Excel may seem very simple and actually even a layman can use it but it also can make complex operations simple with they functions. I believe that without excel work would have been far more time consuming and manual efforts would have been more but excel has made the process simple. We can format anything in excel according to our needs along with that filters can be used and that too logics can also be applied. Various huge calculations are made easy with the help of excel and I feel that these are the reasons because of which excel is so popular and as it has been in the industry for long, information regarding the application is also easily available which is not for the other competitors which make it convenient to use.
