When buying batteries recently in the hardware store near her home, Teresa saw a new battery brand, Lyfpow, which was priced a full 50% cheaper than the more expensive battery brand she usually bought. Teresa, although intrigued by the Lyfpow battery brand's low price, decided not to buy it. She said to herself, "Well, if it's 50% cheaper, it'll run out 50% sooner too." Answer #1

Inferential beliefs

Inferential beliefs are beliefs about the characteristics of products that cannot be directly observed but such beliefs are inferred from the basis of formal logic. Inferential beliefs are result of logical reasoning, and casual attribution. For example consumers expect high quality of the product if the price is high.

Here Teresa believes that if the price is cheap , the efficiency of the product will also be cheap. Inferential belief of Teresa is an indication that she was linking product efficacy with the products price
