The workers in any part of the world would be willing to work overtime just to make some extra money to take care of their financial situation. This is not different in India and the pay in India is not as great as in the other parts of the world. The some of the ways in which Ikea in India can discourage workers from working overtime would be:

  • Increase the pay
  • Create a strict rule for the employee working hours
  • Do not provide free transportation to the people working after the normal working hours
  • Warn the people who work overtime regularly and keep a track of it
  • Create awareness among the employees of the advantages of having a good work-life balance
  • Create an 8 hours working plan for every employee and look for the productivity in those 8 hours to reward the employees
