Effective way of making presentations/papers for your work

While presenting your work with the clients or with any group of people, the stuff/information that you are providing to the audience is very important. Sometime, one can have a bag full of relevant information, however, the audience is still not able to relate to the product/paper due to inefficient presentation of the work. To successfully sell your work to the audience it is very important to have a good, effective presentation for the work.

Below we are going to discuss, some blunders that can be avoided while preparing the presentation to make an impact on the audience.

  • Knowledge of the work - Before starting with any presentation of the work, firstly it is very important to have a knowledge about the stuff. lets say you are giving a presentation for a product launch, if you yourself not know the features of the product, it will become a disaster during the presentation.
  • Jot down the important points - sometime, people while preparing the presentation, keep all the written stuff in the slides instead of making it a point wise. it is important to write down the important stuff that will be useful in presentation and avoid crowding the slides.
  • Highlighting - while making presentation, it will become easier for the presenter and for the audience, when the slides contain some bullet point or sighted information on the slides. it will become easier to remember.
  • Presentation or paper should be simple, do not use jargons or technical words in the presentation a lot, as it will be difficult for a common person, who does not know the technical words to understand it and ultimately he will loose interest in your work.
  • Graphics or photos - keeping graphics in the presentation, not only beautify the work, but it will again become easier for a common person to understand and remember the work. Keep high quality graphics in the report, this will help in solving the problem.
  • Use of charts or graphs also helps in this aspect, whenever you want to show a trend of something instead of making big tables, make charts as this will be visually effective for the audience to understand instead of going through each cells of the table.
  • Fonts, again selection of fonts is very important. do not keep trendy fonts which are difficult to read. keep it as simple as possible yet elegant.
  • Limit punctuation - you do not have to use exclamations, etc. in the slide instead use it while talking about it in your speech.
  • Do not make long slides or papers, as again it will become boring after one point of time. make it crisp instead.

These are the simple tips to have an effective presentation.
