Three HR policies:

  • Originated Policies: originated policies are those which are imposed by senior managers as guidance to their subordinates.
  • Implicit policies: implicit policies are those which are not imposed directly by the managers on their subordinates, but they come to know through behavior of their managers. Hence these policies are also called as implied policies.
  • Appealed policies: this type of policy arises when subordinates to want to know how to handle specific type of situation. Hence they appeal for formulation of these type of policies.
  1. Number and type of people to meet the organizational objectives:

The HR team has the responsibility to ensure that right amount of people are recruited and also right people are selected for the right job. This is necessary to ensure that the organization is not over staffed. Because of over staffing, there may be layoffs or people themselves may quit the organization for better opportunities. Hence it is the employees who are responsible for the performance of the organization and meeting their objectives like profitability, better market share etc.

  1. Effective ways of attracting and recruiting the people:

The following things must be considered when deciding:

  • The first thing is the job profile. It gives the description of the nature of work that the employee has to do after selection. How much of dedication and spirit will the employees apply in doing the job and what is the on the job success.
  • The next is the method used to attract the right people to the organization. This involves describing the employment opportunities that is available in the organization, what are the benefits of working in the organization. This type of advertising will save the organization’s time in recruiting right people from a large pool and also filling the vacant positions at the earliest time.
  • The next is systemizing the recruitment process. This is nothing but letting know the candidates where do they stand in the recruitment process. it is for this purpose ATS i.e. applicant tracking system is used by the organization. Under this candidates can apply for the jobs, send automated messages to the correspondence. Whether the organization uses ATS or not it can use similar methods to maintain communication, efficiency, compliance etc.
  • Using a strong on boarding system. This is in order to ensure that the employee is on the right track. The first 90 of the employees is essential to create a productive employee which involves regular communication and feedback.
  1. Training initiatives to support performance management.

It is necessary to train the employees who join the organization. Proper training helps In creating good results both for the employees and the organization. This can be both on the job and off the job training. The first step that is taken by any organization after selecting the people is training for some days or weeks or months. This is done to educate the new people of organization’s policies, practices, method of working etc.

The three HR plans for an organization involves:

People, process and organization.

One HR policy that applies to all three above is originated policies. This involves policy framed by managers to guide their subordinates on practices involved in the organization. Hence here people i.e. the subordinates are guided of the process to achieve the objectives of the organization.
