It replaces the existing technology because they have more better and flexible features and are superior than the existing technology.

Yes, Disruptive technology requires the computer/ digital system for both inventing and operating the disruptive technology. Disruptive technologies being invented are related to digital systems.

Some of the examples of disruptive technology are as follows -

1) The invention of computer replaces the typewriter.

2) The invention of the touch mobile phones replaced keypad phones.

3) The invention of pendrives replaced DVDs.
