The strategies that my organization has successfully executed are:
- Growth strategy- They adapted this strategy by increasing the geographical area in which the product was targeted to be sold. This brought increase in sales, profits and growth of the organization. They were a manufacturing company of kids soft toys and they started with a small supply of their toys to the vendors in their local area. Their products were liked by the customers and increase in sales increased the supply and thus production in no time. But the market was limited to a specific area so the profits were limited. Hence the organization made strategies to expand its business to a larger area covering cities near by at first and then expanding further. This brought new prospects of growth by increasing the sales and profitibility in the new markets.
- Human resource management strategy- The expansion mentioned in the above scenario had to bring vast change in the human resource management. Expansion in the market of the product required increased production in the same limited time span. More of machineries and equipments were installed but main was the expansion of human resource. Human reources had to be increased by recruiting new employees and redeisgned with new responsibilites for the old employees. The work allocation at each level and department was clear and specific. The targets were predefined and checks were made on it. The employees were made to feel a responisbility and involvment in the company growth with this new change. Hence with the expansion of the product market the human resource expansion and management became a neccesity.
The leadership style used ot apply both these strategies was participative leadership style as expansion in new markets required planning and analyzing the market trends and environment. It was a complex task which required marketing team to gather information and analyze and work according to it. This participative leadership would allow the contribution of all employees in the forming of policies and procedures to enter the new market and make the company grow successfully through it. The other strategy which was to work in the human resources management could work successfully only through the partipative leadership style as the change in the human recource and development through the changes could become easy when the participation of all employees is seeked for this change. They were expalined the requirement of applying this strategy in the workplace and asked for suggestions to make it simplier and effective.
