• Hence, a manager can be copy previous practices; a leader will innovate for new ones and improvise existing ones
• Management is about maintaining existing methods and process; leadership is about developing new ones for optimization
• Management focuses on systems and structure; leadership focuses on people and process.
• Manager relies on control; leadership inspires trust.
• A Manager may have a short-term goal; a leader has a long-term vision
• A manager generally asks how and when; a leader will ask what and why, reasoning/ rationale
• Management will accept the status quo; while leadership will always challenge it.
• Management is about doing things right; the leadership is about doing the right thing.
