According to Kinicki and Williams, human beings are not the most natural assets to manage; this is because they are dynamic and there are a lot of inefficiencies that are inherent to human beings, unlike programmable machines. This means to some extent; the manager may need to motivate themto deliver the results. In every workplace, the workforce is made up of different generations. This means that the choice of the motivation strategies may differ based on the age. Baby boomers can easily be motivated bythings like the opportunities for professional development, positions of authority, recognition for achievements and workplace benefits which are things other than just financial incentives. Secondly, Generation X can be easily motivated by things which offer them a good home/and or work-life balance. These may include things like Family-based benefits corporate wellbeing, professional development opportunities, lifestyle benefits and recognition of achievement. Generation Y can be commonly motivated by stuff which isslightly more on the innovative and technological side. Lastly, generation Z employees usually motivated by having their voice heard and being shown equality other things that can propel this group is respect, money-saving schemes, mentoring platforms, and out of work socialization
