There should be a behavioral and
cross-cultural training program for the recruitment & selection
team, focused to enhance the understanding towards, employee
diversity, cultural environment among minorities and women and the
necessary action required to attract these groups of people. As a
result of this training program, the team can better evaluate the
minorities and women and also implement the affirmative action plan
to recruit minorities & women as per the guidelines of equal
employment opportunity laws.
There should be a new process to advertise the job openings in the
media outlet specifically popular in minorities & women such as
newspapers, job websites specific for minorities and women and the
colleges for minorities & women. It will help the team to
attract the top talents who are either women or in the category of
minorities.
There should be carefully designed message involved with the job
advertisement that can cause the minority and women candidates to
make favorable decisions towards the job and apply for it.
Above proposed initiatives in terms of training program and
improved process of recruitment, will help the recruitment team in
the organization to attract more number of women and
minorities.
