Answer #1

Material Flow Analysis (MFA) also referred to as substance flow Analysis (SFA) is an analytical method to quantity flows and stocks of material in a well defined system.

There are four steps that show material flow is planned and contlocont in the supply chain.

Time periods are important to detailed planning and control system that have been developed in manufacturing. There are three time periods are used in the system they are long term, medium term, and short term.(MPC system).

Inter linked modules are used in that they include front end modules, such as resource planning, and sales, engine module such as material and capacity planning and backend modules the detailed planning and so on.

Indipendent demand goods in supply chain have to be managed using order point methods such as EOQ. Reviews are required periodically for variable size orders.

The MPC system link in the firm's and there a strong need for management of details. Inaccurate exchange of data cuases problems as bullwhip effect.
