What is the relation between language and culture and how is it that people from different countries who speak the same language may still miscommunicate?

Answer #1

It can be said that the relationship between culture and language is a deep one. Culture is the value that a person grows up with, affects every decision they make and involves the use of language as its representation. People use language in order to express themselves, their culture and essentially communicate these values with others.

People may speak the same language but if they have different values, based on culture or any other differences, they may still cause miscommunication and therefore, just the similarity in language isn't what causes people to communicate effectively. It is the value people uphold, which makes them whoever they are as individuals.
