The Wentworth Corporation is a mid-sized manufacturing company located in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia. In business for ten (10) years, it has become one of the area’s largest producers of Widgets. James Henderson and three (3) associates founded the company, which has slowly grown to employ 500 employees, primarily production workers, in its three (3) existing facilities. Henderson is the President and CEO of the corporation, and Mike Johnson is the newly appointed Manager of Human Resources. Wentworth has not employed a full-time HR manager in the past. Henderson is currently in the final stages of securing a major new account. If awarded to Wentworth, it would be a major accomplishment for the firm. However, the additional business would require setting up a new production facility in the state of Wisconsin and hiring 275 additional employees. Mike Johnson has had little experience in creating large staffing initiatives, and both he and Henderson are unsure how to proceed. Henderson and Johnson turn to HR Strategies, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the functional areas of human resources. As a senior-level consultant in the staffing and recruitment division, you have been asked to head up the team designed to assist Wentworth in the development of a staffing initiative for the new facility. Your Stand-Alone Project responses should be both grammatically and mechanically correct and formatted in the same fashion as the project itself. If there is a Part A, your response should identify a Part A, etc. In addition, you must appropriately cite all resources used in your response and document them in a bibliography using APA style. (A 20-page, double-spaced, response is required.)

Why do you need information about their mission statement?

The dedication and retention of workers has become a vital aspect of the success of a small business. Recruiting, recruiting and getting new workers is costly and the changing job environment has meant that professionals will routinely leap into job. Employing an employee as an opportunity can be seen. For most businesses, building a sustainable organization to cope with the pressures of job-invasive offers is necessary. That is why creating a company’s mission statement allows organizations to define what they stand for, which can lead to growth.

The mission statement of an company defines the organisation, its priorities and its plan to achieve those priorities. The key customers, goods and services provided should also be identified and the company's geographical position represented. It also concentrates more on where the business is now and on the next steps that it needs to take to achieve its goals. The mission statement of the organization offers people an explanation of what the company does, how you represent and how it is done. These are only some of the key elements of the mission of a business and vision statement to be reviewed during the Wentworth Management Meeting.

This mission statement highlights the fact that Microsoft's corporate mission statement is to "allow every individual and every organization on the planet to do more." The quality of the company's software goods guarantees these control. This declaration indicates that Microsoft would aim to accomplish its target by helping others to accomplish it. While the mission statement focuses on operational aspects of the company, the declaration looks at the company's future.

The vision statement sets out the path the organization wishes to take. This helps to establish the operational structure for the organisation, along with the mission statement. The vision statement and goal are two main aspects of the plan, the objective and the intent of course. The HR Department can develop a step-by - step approach by defining the key elements which allows the organization to fulfill its mission and vision on a short term basis.

Mission and vision statements help companies to define standards of performance on goals to be achieved during the entire lifetime. They also give workers a common goal to accomplish, improve efficiency and profitability. These statements are not just made for employees and business owners in the field of corporate strategies, but also for external stakeholders such as customers, partners and suppliers. The statements are also used as a tool for media attention, target audiences and business partnerships with like-minded companies.

What do the company’s goals and objectives have to do with their immediate staffing issues?

The importance of their hiring and training strategies was understood by succesful firms. Organizations who take effective recruiting and hiring decisions increase their value significantly. Establish and retain a efficient base of workers in the areas of performance management. The process of selecting and selecting strategic objectives is more complex for human resources, perhaps more than any other department in an organization, than can seem at first sight. Strategic means that the organization's path is sustainable, profitable, or even a potential market leader. The start of workplace preparation is recruiting and selection.

"To determine the roles the company will have to fill and how to fill them, workforce or employee planning is the mechanism." Strategic workforce planning has many benefits , particularly in a changing market climate. Workforce planning provides many advantages, including cost savings and productivity maximisation. Perhaps the biggest advantage for any company is a healthy workforce. For instance, IBM changed from providing software and advisory services to providing computers. This means 22% of staff would have obsolete credentials.

In addition , it is important to develop skills workers may need to execute specific approaches in order to prepare their workforce. A customized organization represents the requirements of its goods and services. The calculation of demand for goods and services begins with the assessment of employees' demands. If a company does not at the right time have the right number of people who have the right skills, it can not achieve its goals. Workforce planning is important for benefit maximization, surprises avoidance and long-term growth.

It provides the members or administrators of companies clear data to be used to define threats to employees before impacting the goals of the company. That's why planning employees for all organizations is an important tool. Operating approaches refer to the techniques used by organizations to achieve their objectives. Through the implementation of organizational approaches, a organization will analyze and incorporate productive and effective capital, personnel and work process applications. In addition, service-oriented organizations use core operating approaches to connect organizational decisions and build an efficient management team in long- and short-term.

Operating plans for the manufacture of the new product will be expert on urgent personnel issues. Employees or organizations must have command in the production of new products in all aspects needed for the manufacture of new products. More focus than hardware and a telecommunication network is also required on software development programs. Our employees at Wentworth are capable of delivering reliable systems, working in teams and applying global standards to the business.

In order that the company can easily hire new talents, investment in retraining and redeployment is important if workers are working. Customer-based solutions to meet the needs and desires of the target customer can also include organizational strategies. To achieve this, organizations need to develop strategies that will evaluate and adapt to the changing environment, enhance core competencies and continue to develop new strengths. Therefore, a organization will track market dynamics in order to take advantage of new opportunities and prevent potential risks while assessing the climate.

The techniques behind production of new goods and services are product and service creation. If designing new consumer products , the company can decide to lead the way in the introduction of a new product or service or wait until new innovations are launched on the market to improve them, or wait for a successful company innovation before going forward. These organizational techniques are useful in any organization's immediate staffing problems.

If companies try to get a new project under way, they more than likely need more staff to be trained. In order to increase profitabilities, for example , companies manufacturing pharmaceutical and cosmetics can recognise a need to reduce the staffing level. Senior managers might however want to see more than a staff restriction on improved employee deployment in the areas with the highest strategic impact.
