Consumers have access to information on their health records at any time but still feel it hampers information privacy. As described in the textbook, 38% of the respondents claimed that they have used online tools provided by their insurance company to learn about their care. 57% of the respondents have read, heard or seen electronic medical records (EHR). 47% of the respondents said they would prefer a doctor who uses EHRs. 61% of the respondents said they would have a preference for insurance companies who uses EHRs and 61% believe that value of EHR would outweigh the risk associated with it.
