What is a B Corporation and what does it mean to Etsy?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A B-corp or Beneift-corporation refers to an organization that is best to be good to workers, the environment and everyone. This status is granted by B-labs a Pennsylvania-based non-profit organization for certification of organizations.

This status allows etsy to have a legal identity that says that company has the right to pursue goals other than making its shareholders richer. This involves acting for the benefit of the society and shareholders can sue the company for negligence in not doing enough good for the society.
