What would you tell a friend who asks you whether or not she or he should take a public speaking class? Would you urge your friend to take the class inseat or online?Why?

I would suggest the friend to take public speaking classes if he feels the need to. Public speaking is a skill that can be needed at work, school, college, gatherings etc. It is directly related to confidence and taking public speaking classes will help in boosting confidence.

I would urge my friend to take inseat classes rather than online classes because he will gain practical real life experience of public speaking in class. Taking online classes will help him aquire theoritical knowledge and tips for public speaking but not actual experience. Taking inseat classes will help him overcome anxiety and fear of public speaking.
