Question 1.What is your Opinion of the Current Jail Situation?

Answer 1) Current Jail situation is very poor because of Covid 19 pandemic in countries like India, Pakisktan and other Asian countries have reported that covid virus is spreading in Jails as well because of many reasons. The police officials that are working on field and coming back to jail are infected in most of the cases and then with them the criminals in jail are also getting infected with virus along with this principle of 6 feet social distancing is not possible in Jail as the cage for criminals are very small and proper hygine is also not maintained inside the jail and giving facility of mask and sanitizers to people in jail is a expense for the government so this is creating a very bad situation for people living in Jail.

Question 2) What is your Opinion with regards to the release of inmates during the Covid-19 Pandemic?

Answer 2) Well it’s a tough call and it completely depends upon the kind of past record the criminal is having, if a criminal is having crime of 10 murders then in such situation it becomes impossible to release the criminal but if any person is arrested/jailed for stealing anything than in such cases he/she can be released but after a proper paper work because without proper paper work these criminal/thieves will be difficult to trace and bring back when everything gets normal and releasing of inmates also depends upon their time duration in the jail if they are living from so many years and they have shown positive changes in them and have become kind in last few years then they can be released. Concluding with I totally feel that it completely depends upon the past record of the inmates and on the decision of the government.
