The choices of products, meeting it customer’s needs, and creating new endeavors are all strategies of the business unit. At the business level, this is usually the foot soldiers that do the busy work for the corporation. Corporations classify their business strategy by differentiation, focus, and integration strategies, as examples. By adopting and staying the course of the mission and vision statements, organizations can better serve and identify their customer groups and provide value for their satisfaction. Information technology can be driven to help set the strategic output of the organization by investing in technology and orienting the organization towards technological advancements and using the information technology to strengthen the software network of the organization which would enable the organization to take strategic decisions in more accurate and efficient manner, thereby removing any complacency and impediments in the system. “System thinking” could have a big role on this effort because it encourages system integration approach and relies on interdisciplinary techniques to solve complex challenges and assists in strategic decision making in an efficient manner. This approach hepls in problem solving in a complex environment, thereby increasing system reliability.
