Evaluation of Mayer's ability to effectively execute the three key managerial roles -
Interpersonal: It seems Mayer was not known for visiting locations or interacting with internal and external people to the company. It can be said that Mayer lacks interpersonal strength.
Informational: Mayer did not think analytically and acted out of impulse and fear. She was not aware of the useful information and feedback from customers, investors and Canyon capital. She did not transfer valuable information to its employees through meetings or emails.
Decisional: She took tough decisions one after another like firing couple of employees each week and giving retention bonuses to employees for rejecting offers from other companies. Whether the decisions were right or wrong, she executed them by deciding.
