The project sponsors could be described as the individuals who are often an executive or a manager having an overall accountability for the project. Having a project sponsorship means that you are having an ownership of the projects on the behalf for the client organisation.

As the project sponsor is the person having only a level above position as compared to the project manager, the look out for the resources and adequate funds to make sure the project is able to achieve the best working effectivity and efficiency for the development and growth of the same.

As the role of the project sponsor, they are not having the role for managing the day to day operations of the project but are required to ensure that the resources, the technology and the funds are in the right place for promoting and making the best work for the project and they are hold responsibility for the overall working of the project. They are effectively representing the business side of the project.

As a project manager, you have to make sure that the project sponsors are being aware about every single detail and the feedback which is relevant and required for the effective allocation of the resources. One has to make sure that an effective communication is followed up, all the necessary data and information is exchanged and feedback is taken place to make sure the project sponsors can have a good look for the project, make relevant decisions and thus take right actions for providing the right resources and elements need to make a run for the project.
