Everyone these days want to be new object developers. Most fortune 500 companies have a large support staff. These departments support purchased and in-house developed code. What are your thoughts concerning support? Should a developer start on the support staff or in the in-house development team? Please explain. There are no right or wrong comments. A developer when conceiving a start-up needs to concentrate on loads of activities which are crucial in nature. The creation of an in-house development team is a complex but significant activity. I feel, the Developers should hence concentrate on the core activities first before planning for delegation of the non-critical activities to the supporting staff gradually. This will facilitate the start-up to base their foundation well on technical aspects that shall be responsible for the survival of the business in long run.
