Following are the implementation challenges of artificial intelligence across supply chain:

1. Humans: yes, Humans are the biggest challenge in implementation of AI because we humans are insecure about giving up total control and trusting some algorithmic decisions. This resistance can go by educating and retraining the workers about AI. In order for effective implementation of AI across supply chain, we need to change the mindset of " this is how we have always done it in the past " to " this is what the data is telling me ". The shift/ transformation is difficult but certainly not impossible.

2. Quality and quantity of data is another hurdle because so much data in supply chain lives outside the enterprise,shared or owned with suppliers, third party manufacturing companies, different partners etc. Also the companies have been running for many years and the data is scattered and stored at different places in different forms like emails,reports,orders and on papers in files. The solution is to first gather all the data at one place and adopt digitalization of data.
