Reflect upon past formal and informal negotiations you have had with people you know. Answer the following questions:
What were the greatest challenges you encountered in these negotiations?
How, if at all, were you able to move through these negotiation challenges?
What advice would you give someone who is about to negotiate with someone they know?
Negotiating with someone we know is a tough task when compared with negotiating with someone we do not know. The greatest challenge we encounter is that we cannot convey the message in the manner we wanted to convey it in the fear of hurting them. We cannot point out their fault in fear of loosing them , But we just need to think that it is for their own benefit and we need to tell them so that they no need to hear it from someone else which gives them much more pain. By thinking inthis way we can overcome the challenges . Hence if we need to negotiate with someone we know we need to give priority to the discussiona nd situation and not the person we are negotiating with which makes the work easy for us.
