Write a proposal at least one page long but not exceeding two pages single spaced on how you plan to implement 6S in the work area

1.      Identify an an opportunity at your workplace or a nearby business where you could implement 6S.

2.      Choose a realistic small area of the business where you can finish implementing SIX S in a period of 3 weeks

3.      The chosen area could be  a work station (office area if you are into service,  an operator station or tool storage area if you are in manufacturing,  an area in the kitchen if you are a chef), opportunities are unlimited. Include the owners of the workstation in the project unless its your own work place. you are welcome to form a team within your business to do this project.

6s is a methodology which is customer focused continuous improvement strategy which minimizes the 3.4 defects per millions opportunity . This methodology is used by many big organisation such as General Motors, Johnson and Johnson, Motorola etc.

1. Example in manufacturing factory of Royal Enfield.

2. In manufacturing for realizing or minimizung defect 6s can be implemented and it can be implemented in a period of 3 weeks

3.Now in the chosen area 6s can be implemented through these processes:

  • First is defining what is the problem in the manufacturing process.
  • Then measuring the density of the defect.
  • Now analysing what can be done to remove it or minimize the defects..
  • Now improving the process by implementing the most effective method for minimizing the defect.
  • Now putting control as 6s is a continuous improvement strategy not just implemented and left.
