2. What place does a Christian manager at a company like Greyston
Bakery have in being firm with a supplier regarding specific
ingredients, conditions, quantities, and so forth? Does a Christian
demanding certain things from suppliers (even if accomplished in a

marketplace?
Chapter 3 from Management ( a faith-based pespective) by michael E. Cafferky.
1. In the chapter-opening scenario, what could Baxter Belafonte have done differently to prevent the confrontation with his boss?
Baxter Belafonte could have done many things differently to prevent the confrontation he encountered with his boss, to start he could have made a game plan for his workers outlining a solid plan of how to run things and maintain things, although many would jump the gun to throw the blame on the worker that made the choice to carry the solution, in the end it is Baxter who is to blame. Baxter could have laid a plan out of how to handle the solutions and made sure to give his workers that are under him the proper training and preparation needed to stop the workers from making the mistakes they are making. These simple fixes would have easily prevented Baxter from ever having to have a confrontation with his boss and made the working environment much safer.
6: For a Christian manager, I do not believe that the relationship between customer or supplier should be different at all, the reason I believe this is because to have a successful business the manager must maintain a solid Christian based relationship with the customer making sure they are satisfied as well as with the supplier making sure they are happy with the results of business.

A=As Christian managers we have to consider Jesus and Jesus is a synonym for excellence. So if in any case it is necessary to stand firm before a person we have to do it. Since in a company like Greyston Bakery, suppliers and ingredients are key to the success of the business. So if we want to get the best ingredients, the best conditions and quantities, acting firmly would not be bad and much less would put the name of Christ wrong.Being rude and disrespectful is another thing. But being firm manager is a good way to gain respect. But not forgetting the importance of human relations.
