In spite of several sheets of policies, codes of conduct and ethics, company values, thoroughly outlined work environments & organizational cultures failures/slips in workplace ethics happen every day.

Slips in workplace ethics outcome from inapt employee behaviour like insider stock trading, sexual harassment, expense a/c fraud & participation in conflicts of interest.

H-P's former CEO M. Hurd, was involved in a workplace ethics concern. He had failed to divulge a close personal relation with a contractor which created a conflict of interest, did not maintain accurate expenditure documentation and he misused organizational assets.

As employees of an organization we must carefully take into consideration the codes of conduct & ethical values that have been communicated to us. We should take apt ethical decisions when faced with any given circumstance.
