1. The five recommendations would be:

Involve the team: We can ask the employees for their opinion on what they like and this way they also feel that their opinion is valued. They feel more satisfied when they get rewarded from a system that was built on their suggestions.

Combine rewards and performance: The performance-based rewards system will always work better than any other system. This will make the reward system transparent and the employees feel satisfied. They will know how they need to work if they want to get rewarded.

Consistency: The company needs to be consistent in their approach towards the reward system. The employee expectation should be met every single time in terms of the appraisal and the specific period of time in a year. The reward provided should be also consistent.

Reward the behavior as well: Some people put in extra effort to maintain a good work environment and it is important for the company to identify those employees and reward them suitably. This makes the employees feel important and also increase their morale.

Reward teams: The company also needs to identify the top performing teams and reward them instead of just rewarding the individuals. This will improve the confidence and make people work as a team.
