Think of your experience in taking a survey. Why do you think you were selected? How willing were you to answer the survey? How honestly did you answer the questions in the survey? Was there any incentive provided? If so, did that influence the way you answered the questions in the survey?
As you answer these questions, what are some concerns that you have in sampling? What is the purpose of diversity in sampling for your study? Identify some potential sampling issues that you may encounter and discuss at least one strategy you will use to address these issues.
Surveys are conducted to know the opinion of a group or community or population. People are provided with questions which needs to answered and often these surveys come up with some kind of incentives like bonus or discounts or any other offers. When we take part in some survey it would be because we are some customers or stakeholders of the company which needs to know our opinion . We often give correct answers connected to the product or service we use regardless of the incentives or gifts offered. The incentives does not influence the way we answer our survey . Sampling is when random persons are picked from a group in order to understand that whole group. Predtermined samples are collected and studied. While this would give us a result it is often generalised and no accurate result can be obtained by this method. Sampling gives generalised and inaccurate results as the opinion of one person might not be the opinion of the other. We need to select people of various choices as samples and come up with a result that is common in all the samples and this generalised result might be close to accuracy .
