The name Pep Boys -Manny,Moe and Jack is after the owners of the firm Manny,Marauss moe and Graham Jack. It was founded in 1921 in Philadelphia ,Pennsylvania. It was originally named Pep Auto supply company. The name came in parts like Pep Boys came from a policeman, and the rest from the idea on seeing the name of some restaurants . The main inspiration was "Minnie,Maude and Mables". It runs successfully with slight changes and the logo of the company also comes fromt he owners. Later the cigar which is there in one of the owner's mouth is removed from the logo. It did not even get effected by the depression thanks to the capabilities of the owners and continued it's success .
