China seems to be making a successful transition to market
economics and is growing rapidly.
Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing for the United
States? Does your reasoning
reflect mercantilist or liberal assumptions?
I think that the growing China’s economy creates really bad scenery for the international trade in the sense that China is creating the barriers for other counties to strengthen their own economies. If China’ economy keep growing rapidly it would cause a greater demand for oil which will cause higher gas prices and harms the global trade. But China’s growing economy could open doors for trade if China didn’t manipulate its currency. The absolute advance and innovation of mercantilism in China, has done significant damage to United States and other economies.
