The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was created with the mission of providing “the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world” [CITATION FAAnd \p 1 \l 1033 ]. On the other hand, International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) mission is to “serve as the global forum of States for international civil aviation” [CITATION ICAnd \p 1 \l 1033 ]. The FAA regulates aviation inside of the United States, so who is responsible for the global skies? This is where the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) comes in. The driving forces behind the creation of the FAA and ICAO are to ensure safety within the airlines industry through stipulating uniform policies, procedures, standards, as well as dissemination of crucial information which focuses on efficiency, safety, convenience and environmental protection; thus, serving the best interests of the general public.

Both the organization is for safety, FAA policies are for the USA whereas ICAO is for the entire world. Also, FAA also promotes the aviation industry by appreciating the development of new technologies and Operations which can make it a more safer experience for the society. ICAO, on the other hand, is kind of an authoritative organization which imposes safety regulations on the countries but these are not the regulations but are the rules and procedures which are enforced from the Peer Pressures of the member nation.
