Reduced productivity: when an
employee is discriminated against due to his religion or caste or
for any other reason may lose interest on his job responsibilities,
or on the company’s welfare. This can prevent him from performing
which ultimately reduces his contribution on new ideas and
productivity as he lacks motivation to complete the assignments on
time.
Financial problems: if an employee
quits the organization to escape himself from discrimination, the
company has to spend its resources again in finding the new
replacement, training him, educating him on company’s new
technology. All this can be time consuming and also expensive for
the company.
Physical effects: an employee would
take more sick leaves or be continuously late to the organization
to avoid discrimination. This results in delay in meeting the
deadlines or making any important presentations. The employee would
also not maintain a friendly relationship with his co workers.
Legal trouble: sometimes the company
will be facing legal troubles from the employees discriminated. As
they may take legal action against the company as a result of
unbearable discrimination by the company. Examples of such cases
can be company’s avoidance to pay wages or firing an employee
wrongfully etc. in such case, the company would be legally forced
to pay the employee or re recruit the same person again.
