Whistleblowers have following rights.

Whistleblower is protected against retaliation by the employer for engagement in a protected activity related to a number of domains. This retaliation may be in the form of demoting, blacklisting, denying benefits, promotions and overtime, firing and layoffs, disciplinary action without reasonable cause, threats etc.

Whistleblower can file a complaint with OSHA if he / she believes that the rights have been violated. The whistelblower is protected in cases of financial frauds, environment violations, workplace health and safety issues, cosumer product related issues, solid waste disposal, air safety, hazardous workplaces, railroad safety and many other relevant issues.
