Difference between employee and independent contractor:

  • Employee can be controlled by the company but independent contractor cannot be controlled by them. Company have certain rights over employee while contractor is exception from that.
  • Company can have control over the action of employee as employee doing the company work which is duty of him while contractor is independent and don’t have liability to company.
  • Company have hired the employee through application of him and contract is independent person who need to finish particular work only which he have asked to do in return of money.
  • Employee is covered by the employment and labor laws while contractor does not have such kind of benefits at all.
  • Employee does need to pay monthly as salary while contractor need to paid when contract ends and work get done by him.
