Answer #1

Single stories only reveal one story about a group. They aren't enough for someone to generate a perspective about them. It may mislead someone from the fact. These single stories prevent others from connecting other individuals. They may get generalize an individual as they belong to a group and wouldn't personally connect to them. Adichie herself had a personal experience from a single story that, she thought all Nigerian men were abusive after reading a novel where the protagonist is an abusive male.
Stereotypes are generated by single stories. They only possess a single viewpoint. they aren't been given exposure to another perspective. Thus, they lack the opportunity to think differently and to find the truth. This is how single stories create stereotypes.
