The first as well as the best thing that can be done in this situation is to talk privately to Kevin. I will ask him why he made such a feedback and try to understand my shortcomings in a polite way. I will also try to make a good relation with him so that he can talk to me openly and share the problems with me first rather than contacting the top-level management. A mutual understanding must be made. I will talk to him in such a way that he feels that I am an open person who has a positive attitude.
