It has used suppiers across the globe for its various sub assemblies. Chief among the Suppliers is Japanese companies who helped in design of the wingspan and other products as well.

Boeing 787 is definitely innovative product and has sourcing strategy involving suppliers from the the globe focussed towards quality, speed and flexibility.
