There are two legal theories related to sexual harassment and these theories are as follows:

  • Quid pro quo: This theory is based on exchange of job benefits to do sexual favors. It includes sexual cooperation where employees are forced to choose one among economic detriment and suffering. This kind of sexual harassment only committed by an person at superior position who can affect the employees economic benefits.
  • Hostile work environment: This theory is based upon sex-related conduct that includes so many factors such as creating an intimidating, interfering individual's work performance without any reason. It can be conducted by a supervisor, a co-worker, customer, a vender or a member of organization.
