Answer #1

A training and development policy that neither supports nor contradicts the mission statement of the company might have following likely results.

(i) The training needs analysis process has no bearing with the strategic objectives of the organisation, and it is likely to be a general approach which would not address the issues that affect company's strategy.

(ii) Training programs would most likely be adopted from other companies which have different working conditions and issues, which would make them ineffective or misdirected.

(iii) The performance of training interventions could not be linked to the outcomes. This would affect the performance management system and create ambiguity.

(iv) The succession planning process by developing the leadership would either be absent or not aligned with the company's strategic objectives, which is a dangerous proposition.

(v) Interpersonal issues among employees would surface, as a result of ambiguous situation where the trained and certified employees would not meet the need while some untrained but experienced ones would do. There would be more frustrated employees who would not find the training solutions to their performance issues. Dissatisfaction and high attrition rate might be fallouts.

(vi) The training and development function would not be an important strategic unit of the company anymore, and perhaps, an outside agency would do the job.

The motion in that direction is independent of the displacement, velocity, and acceleration associated with any of the perpendicular directions. For example, the acceleration due to gravity near the surface of the earth has a value of 9.8 m/s2, downward. This affects the vertical motion of an object but has no effect on the motion...
