Answer #1

Leader is someone who just doesn't keep doing everything for his/her followers but the one who helps the individuals believe in themselves to accomplish the tasks that they own. Thus, it is important that the leader effectively and clearly communicates the followers on what needs to be done and expects the followers to accomplish the tasks in the given timeline. Hence, the people who are too nice to everybody cannot be effective leaders as it becomes difficult for them to be strict and command the followers when required thus resulting in unproductive followers who will not become capable of accomplishing any task on their own.

Knowling goes on to say about fear that once people know change is coming, 'you can cut it with a knife'. He implies this is normal as well, which I too agree. He then says that his way of 'dealing with it' is to tell people that they need to deal with the fear and not let it immobilize them into doing nothing. Again I agree with this statement, but I am not fully supportive of the notion that you...

found that the fear of losing the good opinion of one’s family and peers kept people from driving home drunk. Let’s say we have two independent random samples of people: those who think that their peers would disapprove of them from driving drunk, and those who think that their peers would either not care or approve of their driving drunk. We ask each person in each group to self-report the number of times that he or she has driven drunk...

You just completed the first topic in your PSC-410 class. You are excited about what you have learned so far. You try to share your excitement with your supervisor and tell him you are taking a servant leadership class. His response is, “Servant leadership is overrated. You can’t get any real work done that way, you know. Cuddling people and being a soft leader will not get you very far.” You brush of his remark, but decide to revisit the...
