Compare and contrast Metacom’s War, Nat Turner’s Rebellion, and the Pueblo Revolt.
Metacom's War
Metacom's War is a result of cultural conflict and population pressure. It is also called King Phiip's War, occured in 1675-1676. There are two types of groups in England namely Wampanoag and other native tribes. There arises a conflict between them with respect of their cultura differences. The King Philip, also known as metacom or metacomet was elected as chief of Wampanoag, who began to negotiate against this cultural war. Metacom started the attack in June 1675 and war declared in september 1675. The war ends by the Metacom's death in August 1676.
Nat Turner’s Rebellion
Nat Turner’s Rebellion is a war of black slaves in Virginia. Nat Turner is the man who led the war on 1831. A group of black slaves went for killing white people and save the black slaves. They killed 57 whites and saved black slaves. The war ended by the death of 56 whites and 55 blacks.
Pueblo Revolt
Pueblo Revolt was the largest and successful American uprising in North American history. It is also known as Pope's Rebellion. The Pueblo people and spanish people were make conflict with respect of religious and cultural violence. The Spanish demanded materials and labour from the Pueblos. In 1680, the Pueblo started the attack on Spanish. Gradually it leads to the war. In 1692, the spanish force returned the area of operations.
These three wars are different mainly by the group of people involved and the purpose of the war.
